A DRIVEWAY TO STAND THE TEST OF TIME
Why choose a Resin Bound driveway?
FLEXIBLE SOLUTIONS
Can Resin Bound be laid over an existing driveway?
In many cases, yes. Resin bound surfacing can be installed over an existing concrete or asphalt driveway if the base is structurally sound, stable and suitable for overlaying. Cracking, movement, drainage issues or damaged areas may need to be repaired before installation.
Where the existing driveway is unsuitable, we can recommend the preparation or new base required before the resin bound surface is installed. Every driveway should be assessed individually rather than assuming an overlay is suitable
What Base Does a Resin Bound Driveway Need?
The correct base depends on the condition of the site and the drainage requirements. Resin bound surfacing may be installed over suitable concrete, asphalt or a purpose-built permeable base system.
For a fully permeable installation, the layers beneath the resin bound surface also need to allow water to drain through. Installing resin bound over an impermeable concrete base does not make the complete driveway permeable.

Cracks, Movement & Repairs
Any cracks, movement or failed areas are identified before installation. Repairs may be needed to create a stable, long-lasting base.

Edging & Thresholds
We assess edges, garages, gates, paths and adjoining surfaces so the finished driveway ties in neatly and looks properly detailed.

Overlay Suitability or New Base
We’ll confirm whether your existing driveway can be overlaid or whether a new base is required, then recommend the best option for your site.

Existing Surface Condition
We assess the current concrete or asphalt driveway to check its stability, condition and whether it’s suitable for a resin bound overlay.

Drainage & Falls
We check levels, falls and drainage to make sure water flows correctly and to identify any areas that may need adjustment.
What we assess before installing a resin bound driveway.
Every driveway is different. Before we install a resin bound surface, we carry out a thorough assessment to make sure your existing base, drainage and site conditions are suitable. This ensures the best result and a long lasting finish.
A SOLID START

Design your resin bound driveway.
A resin bound driveway doesn’t have to be one uninterrupted colour. Contrasting borders, curves, entrance details and different aggregate blends can be used to create a more individual design.
Our range includes light natural stones, warm beige tones, greys, darker contemporary blends and more dramatic finishes.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Resin Bound Driveway FAQs.
Yes. When installed at the correct depth over a suitable stable base, resin bound surfacing can be used for residential and commercial driveways and vehicle areas.
The resin bound surface itself has an open structure that allows water through. For the complete driveway to be permeable, the base and sub-base beneath it must also allow water to drain.
Yes. Existing concrete must be assessed for stability, movement and drainage before being accepted as a suitable base, but resin bound can absolutely overlay concrete and many other types of surfaces.
Service life depends heavily on preparation, traffic, installation quality and maintenance. A properly designed and installed system is intended to provide a durable long-term surfacing solution.
No resin bound surfaces are not slippery, the finished surface can incorporate slip-resistant aggregate to improve grip. The appropriate finish should be chosen according to the location and intended use.
